Respect for original work
Greatness Gained respects the work of authors, educators, creators, and other copyright owners. Responsible stewardship includes using content with permission and treating copyright concerns carefully.
This policy explains how to send a notice concerning allegedly infringing material on greatnessgained.com and how to respond if material was removed because of a copyright claim. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) is part of U.S. copyright law. See the U.S. Copyright Office’s Section 512 resources for background.
This page provides general procedural information, not legal advice. Consult a qualified attorney about your rights or situation when needed.
02 / COPYRIGHT POLICY
Before sending a notice
Review the specific material and your rights carefully. Consider whether the use is authorized by a license, permission, fair use, or another legal basis.
Provide accurate information and identify the exact location of the material. Each claim should receive meaningful review; avoid bulk submissions that have not been assessed individually.
Direct contact with the person who posted the material may help resolve a concern when appropriate, but this page does not require that step before you send a copyright notice.
Knowingly making material misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice can result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Copyright takedown notice
If you are a copyright owner or authorized representative and believe material on our website infringes your copyright, send a written notice to the copyright contact below. Include:
- Your signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
- The copyrighted work. Identify the work claimed to be infringed. For multiple works on a single site, a representative list may be provided.
- The material and its location. Identify the allegedly infringing material and provide enough information to locate it, including specific URLs when available.
- Your contact details. Provide an address, telephone number, and email address at which you can be reached.
- Your good-faith statement. State that you believe the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy and authority. State that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the allegedly infringed exclusive right.
Include the notice in the body of your email so it can be reviewed without opening an attachment. An attachment may supplement your notice.

DMCA counter-notice
If your material was removed or disabled and you believe that happened because of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notice. Review the legal implications before doing so. Include:
- Your signature. A physical or electronic signature.
- The removed material. Identify the material and its location before removal or disabling.
- Your sworn good-faith statement. State, under penalty of perjury, that you believe the material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification.
- Contact and court consent. Provide your name, address, and telephone number. State that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district of your address, or, if outside the United States, any judicial district where the service provider may be found. State that you will accept service of process from the original notice sender or that person’s agent.
Send your counter-notice to the copyright contact below. Including an email address will help with correspondence.

Notice and counter-notice process
We review copyright notices for the information required by the applicable DMCA process. A notice is an allegation, not a court determination of infringement. Disputes about the merits may require advice from an attorney or resolution through the courts.
Under the process in 17 U.S.C. § 512, a qualifying service provider acts expeditiously on a compliant takedown notice and takes reasonable steps to notify the affected subscriber.
Where the counter-notice process in § 512(g) applies, the provider promptly forwards a compliant counter-notice to the original notice sender. Removed material is restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt of the counter-notice, unless the designated agent first receives notice that the original complainant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the subscriber’s allegedly infringing activity.
These procedural steps do not resolve the underlying copyright dispute. They also do not establish that any particular service qualifies for a statutory safe harbor.

Information in your notice
A notice or counter-notice may be forwarded to the other party as part of the process. Your submission can include your name, address, contact information, and statements.
Provide the information needed for the notice, but do not send passwords, payment card details, or unrelated sensitive records. Review the implications of sharing your contact details with an attorney if you have concerns.
